Cookie Policy

This website uses technical cookies to ensure the proper functioning of procedures and to improve the user experience of online applications. This document provides information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, how they are used by the site, and how to manage them.

Definitions

Cookies are small text files that websites send to users' devices, where they are stored and then transmitted back to the same sites during future visits. "Third-party cookies" are set by a website different from the one the user is currently visiting, as there may be elements (e.g., images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages on other domains) that reside on servers different from the visited site.

Types of Cookies

Based on their characteristics and use, cookies can be classified into different categories:

  • Technical Cookies: These are used solely for the purpose of "transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service" (see Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code). These cookies are not used for additional purposes and are usually installed directly by the website owner or manager. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website; analytics cookies, treated as technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect aggregate information on the number of users and how they visit the site; and functionality cookies, which allow users to navigate based on a series of selected criteria to improve the service provided. The installation of these cookies does not require the user's prior consent but does require the provision of information pursuant to Article 13 of the Privacy Code.
  • Profiling Cookies: These cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used to send advertising messages aligned with the preferences expressed by the user during web browsing. Due to the invasiveness of such devices, European and Italian law stipulates that users must be adequately informed about their use and give valid consent. The use of these cookies is regulated under Article 122 of the Privacy Code. This website does not use profiling cookies.

Third-Party Cookies

While visiting this website, users may receive cookies from websites managed by other organizations ("third parties"). An example is the presence of "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or LinkedIn, as well as embedded media content from platforms like YouTube or Flickr. These are elements directly generated by these websites and integrated into the host website’s pages. The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all third-party managed websites. The management of the information collected by third parties is governed by the respective privacy policies, which users are encouraged to refer to.

Analytics Cookies

  • WebTrends: This site uses a statistical analysis tool to monitor and improve its performance. WebTrends may use cookies to collect anonymous statistical information and unique visitor data.
  • Google Analytics: This site also includes components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). These cookies are used solely for performance monitoring. For more information, visit Google Analytics Privacy. Users can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookie duration

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the user logs out. Other cookies "survive" the browser's closure and remain active for subsequent visits by the user. These are known as persistent cookies, and their duration is set by the server at the time of creation.

Managing Cookies

Users can decide whether or not to accept cookies through their browser settings. Disabling technical cookies may impact the optimal use of the website. Disabling third-party cookies does not affect the navigability of the site.

Cookie management settings vary between browsers. Below are links to the instructions for managing cookies for the most commonly used browsers:
